By joining my email list I will send you a gift as a thank you. Remember to walk in Other People's Shoes.
SEASON FINALE OF DEAR...
When was the last time you attended a funeral or a celebration of life service? Over the years, I've found myself in those seats many times. I wish I could say it gets easier each time, but unfortunately, it doesn’t. During these moments, I often reflect on what I could have or should have said. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.
At one of these services, the pastor shared words of encouragement that stayed with me, and I hope they resonate with you too: love the ones you're with, hug the ones you can, miss the ones you should, but sometimes, we ultimately have to let them go—not from our hearts, but from our grasp.
As we wrap up this season of Other People's Shoes, we look forward to sharing more stories with you in the fall.
Miss Me, But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not for long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this journey that we all must take
And each must go alone;
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.
